Inspiration
As with so many things in my life, I often return to the darkly absurd as a source of tremendous delight and inspiration. So it’s really no wonder that my current place of employment — vexxing though it may be to the soul seeking nourishment and the mind craving logic — has been the backdrop to such an astonishing expansion of my own creative portfolio.
Seriously, I may be...
Elevator Aurora Borealis
This is why, despite the fear of rotting rails and the general disrepair, I still ride the Blue Line from Washington.

Avatoddlers
If I were a struggling sci-fi move-maker trying to make a movie about a strange, alien world I’d totally just film a toddler beauty pagent and maybe up the color hue/saturation in post.
Eff a CGI artist or effects house; this shit is the real home of mind-blowing.

Is this development bringing us any closer to my dream of the ATM that conducts all transactions in the singing voice of Elvis Costello circa “I Want You”? No. Therefore, I call it a fail.

If CNN Quick Vote is the mouth-breathing grumble of the people, CNN Story Highlights are the jotted notes of the newsroom’s Camus. Consider this selection from the spectacularly-headlined article In an instant, majestic waves turn deadly:

Obama, The Old One
So, according to Sarah Palin, Obama wants to enshrine “The Necronomicon” as the guiding document in his new, secretly-Muslim, socialized healthcare scheme. That bastard, this wasn’t on any of those Shepard Fairey posters.

What I do?
Is there a word for a phrase or argument that sounds intelligent and axiomatic but, when upacked and analyzed, could also be appraised as verbal, hamster-paws-on-glass scrambling? If so, there is a good chance that most of what I do in meetings is, in some way or another, exactly this.
